Welcome to the Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) online submission and peer review system. STAM is an open access journal which provides an international forum for refereed research papers, topical reviews and focus issue papers covering all aspects of materials science. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary nature of materials science and issues at the forefront of the field, such as nano-, bio-, and ecomaterials. STAM is completely free to read, and there is no publication charge for authors. The costs of publication are covered by the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). The intention of NIMS is to support free access to important research results at no cost to author or reader, through institution-sponsored open access. STAM is published by NIMS in partnership with IOP Publishing.
