Using the Editorial Manager Help System
Welcome to the Editorial Manager Help System. This Help System is designed to provide Editorial Manager users with relevant information regarding the different roles and processes of Editorial Manager. The Editorial Manager Help System also incorporates a frequently asked questions (FAQs) section and a troubleshooting section, in an effort to encompass most of what the Editorial Manager users will experience when using the Editorial Manager software.
Note: All screen shots and terminology used in the screen shots, as well as all terminology used in the Editorial Manager Help System itself, may not be identical to your particular journal's implementation of Editorial Manager. Throughout this guide there are several screen shots of Editorial Manager. These screen shots were taken using an Editorial Manager test journal and may not match your journal's implementation of Editorial Manager exactly.
Editorial Manager Help System's Display
The Editorial Manager Help System is comprised of a navigational toolbar at the top of the screen and two divided windows below. The Navigation toolbar contains three different tabs that give users three different options to find relevant Help information.
The three toolbar tabs are:
1)
2)
3)
The two windows below the navigational toolbar are always divided. The left window will show all of the relevant topic listings in outline or list format, while the right window will show one user-selected topic listing's full information.

The first tab at the top
of the Help System is the

tab (the default tab) contains the full contents of the Editorial Manager
Help System. The
Editorial Manager Help System is broken up into seven different sections.
Each of
these sections is represented by a top-level book.
The seven sections are:
1) Welcome to Editorial Manager - Welcome page, Complete Index, EM System Requirements and User's Guide
2) Author Help - Welcome/Index page, Full listing of Author Topics and all Author information

6) Preprint Manager Help - Welcome/Index page, Full listing of Preprint Manager Topics and all relevant Preprint Manager information
7) EM Knowledge Base - EM FAQs and EM Troubleshooting Tips
Clicking on any of the seven sections will bring up all sub-sections (topics) that fit under each of those sections. Clicking on any sub-sections (topics) will open up any sub-sections to those sub-sections, and any relevant topic information will be displayed in the right window.
