Submit Revision

The ‘Submit Revision’ link provides access to the ‘Submit Revised Manuscript’ interface.  The ‘Submit Revised Manuscript’ interface leads the Author through the submission process for submitting their Revision.

The interface is similar to the ‘Submit New Manuscript’ interface, though the journal can create special onscreen instructions for Revisions, can hide or include various steps, and can define different rules for submitting Revisions.  Another important difference is that the Author is presented with a list of the source files submitted for the previous version.  The Author can choose whether or not to ‘carry over’ files from the previous version to the new Revision.

When the Author is presented with a list of the source files submitted for the previous version, each file has a checkbox displayed next to it.  The checkbox must be checked in order to carry the file into the next version.  The journal can decide whether they want the checkboxes checked as a default setting, or unchecked as a default setting.

Note:  If the checkboxes are unchecked by default, then the Author must check the box next to each file he wishes to carry over to the new version of the submission.  If checkboxes are checked by default, then the Author must uncheck the boxes next to each file he does not wish to carry over to the new version of the submission

To Configure:  Go to PolicyManager, then to the ‘Set Revision File Selection Option’ link.  Click the radio button next to the word ‘Checked’ if you want the checkboxes to be checked by default – which means the files will be carried forward unless the Author unchecks them.  Click the radio button next to the word ‘Unchecked’ if you want the checkboxes to be unchecked by default – which means the files will NOT be carried forward unless the Author checks them.
