Select Classifications
‘Classifications’ is a list of keywords, index terms, or subject areas that can be predefined by the journal. Authors select ‘Classifications’ as a way to describe their submission using the journal’s controlled list of terms. Classification data is valuable in downstream processes, such as assigning an Editor or selecting Reviewers with similar expertise.
The Author clicks the checkbox next to any classification he wishes to select. The Author may select as many classifications as is appropriate.
This information becomes part of the submission metadata and is displayed on the submission’s ‘Details’ page and on the PDF cover sheet.
The journal can make this an optional or required step, or hide this step so that the Author does not see it.
