Enter Comments

The ‘Enter Comments’ step on the ‘Submit Manuscript’ interface allows the Author to type comments, directed at the journal office or Editor, into a textbox.  This information is only accessible by Editors (and journal office) and is displayed on the submission’s ‘Details’ page.

 

Because the on-screen instructions can be modified, a journal might have a specific use for this ‘Enter Comments’ step.  For example, the Journal might ask the Author to provide funding information with this step.

 

The journal can make this an optional or required step, or hide this step so that the Author does not see it.
