1.0 - Registration

Before you can use the Editorial Manager System, you must register as a user.

• Click the 'Register' button on the main navigation menu (at the far left side of the page). You will be brought to the Registration Page.

• Enter your personal information. You are required to enter data in those fields marked with a red asterisk (*), otherwise you can not successfully register.

• Once you have completed your registration information and clicked 'Continue' at the bottom of the form, you will receive an e-mail notification that contains your User Name and Password.

2.0 - Changing Your Password

Editorial Manager automatically assigns a password to your account. However, you may change your password at any time.

• Login to Editorial Manager using your assigned Username and Password.

• Select 'Update My Information' on the main navigation menu. This will bring you to the user registration form you filled out earlier.

• In the field next to 'Password:' is your current password. You can overwrite this with a new password.

• Click the 'Update' button at the bottom of the form. The next time you login to Editorial Manager, you will need to enter your new password. Should you forget your password, you can have it sent to you via e-mail by clicking the 'Login' button on the main navigation menu, and then clicking 'Forget Your Password?'. You will be asked to fill in your name and e-mail address. Once you submit your information, an e-mail containing your password will be sent to you shortly.

3.0 - If You Forget Your Password

Should you forget your password, Editorial Manager can send you an e-mail that contains your password.

• Click 'Login' on the main navigation menu.

• Underneath the Login form are three links. Select 'Forget Your Password?'.

• Fill in your name and e-mail address.

• Click 'Send Password'. An e-mail containing your password will be sent to you shortly.

4.0 - Logging in to Editorial Manager

Once you have successfully registered with Editorial Manager, you are ready to login to the system.

• Select 'Login' on the main navigation menu to the far left of the page.

• Fill in your Username and Password.

• Now you must click the button that corresponds to your role within the Editorial Manager System. Authors should choose 'Author Login', Reviewers should choose 'Reviewer Login' and so forth.

• This will bring you to a menu of actions specific to your role within the system.

5.0 - Accessing an E-mail ‘Hotlink’

Accepting or Declining a Review Invitation, or Viewing a PDF
If clicking the link does not open an Editorial Manager window, your e-mail program may have inserted some spaces and/or line markers into the link. Please open a browser window manually and copy and paste the entire link from the email into the url address box. The link starts with the letters "http" and ends with the letters "rev=X" (where X represents a revision number such as 0, 1, 2, etc.) Note that the end of the link may be shown on a different line in the e-mail, and may be shown in a different color than the beginning of the link. The entire link must be copied and pasted into the browser in order for the correct Editorial Manager window to be displayed. After copying the link into the url address box, you must also remove any spaces and line markers (e.g. > or >>) by using the delete or backspace keys on your keyboard.
